Verseng has an enormous amount of experience and expertise in design, manufacture and installation of special purpose machinery. Over the years we have assisted many companies from a wide range of industries with their engineering requirements.

Verseng has been heavily involved with the design and manufacture of a drop table for the removal of traction motors for locomotives.

The state of the art scissor lift is capable of lifting the 5-6 tonne traction motor wheel sets out from under the locomotive to a point where they can be lifted out by overhead crane.

BALL SCREW AND LOCOMOTIVE JACKS

Verseng can design a jack that is tailor made to suit your given requirements. The jacks are not only effective, they are simple and safe to use.

The jacks consist of a heavy walled steel section frame a heavy plated lifting section with hardened turned wheels and heavy duty manoeuvring wheels. The lifting mechanism consists of a ball screw with baring mounted top and bottom driven directly by an electric motor and gearbox.

The set of four (4) jacks are controlled by a heavy duty electrical cable and controlled either individually or as a group.

All locomotive jacks are fabricated and machined within our workshop located in Midvale Western Australia.

Controls are clear and simple to use and come with a user’s manual to prevent any confusion

Safety features include maximum travel up as well as down. Jacks are fitted with limits so the jack cannot be operated while the manoeuvring wheels are down. There is also a sensor fitted to a back-up nut to detect wear on the main nut and ball screw. This is designed to cut out the machine before the wear gets to a critical point.
